Our Mission

At our kindergarten, we are passionate about creating a nurturing, play-based learning environment where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to grow. Grounded in the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, our program celebrates each child’s identity, voice, and potential through meaningful, responsive experiences. We embrace inclusive practices, cultural awareness, and strong partnerships with families to foster a deep sense of belonging and community. Guided by respected educational theories and a commitment to child safety, our educators thoughtfully design a learning program that encourages independence, curiosity, and inspiring discovery by supporting children to become confident, capable learners. We offer 3 and 4 year old pre-school programs to families in the northern Darebin area of Melbourne, VIC. Our commitment to CHILD SAFETY.
Our kindergarten is immensely proud to be rated as EXCEEDING National Quality Standards in early childhood education THREE times - 2012, 2017 and 2022! This evaluation truly reflects the incredible work that our teachers, educators, committee members, children and parents have undertaken to ensure the continuous viability and quality of services provided by our community-managed kindergarten.

Where Are We?

You can find us at 75 Arundel Avenue Reservoir, close to Keon Park train station and Mahoneys and Cheddar Roads. Originally a Baptist Church, our Arundel Avenue campus has been operating solely as a kindergarten since 1946, when the church generously donated the building to our community. Situated on a double block of land, there is a generous indoor and outdoor play environment with popular spaces including the sandpit, mud kitchen, vegetable garden and bike track.
Between 2004 - 2014, Keon Park Kindergarten operated from two locations - Arundel Avenue and Dole Avenue. Since 2015, our kindergarten has operated solely from Arundel Avenue. Keon Park Kindergarten Inc is not affiliated in any way with Keon Park Childrens Hub Kindergarten located at Dole Ave, Reservoir.
In the spirit of reconciliation our community would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which our preschool is situated - the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging.
